Electric/Pneumatic Cart Indexer

Problem:
Customer’s jobs-per-hour count was unacceptable due to excessive indirect labor required to retrieve parts from manual push carts. The parts retrieval process produced undesirable ergonomic issues due to the excessive walking and bending required for retrieving parts.

Scott Industries Solution:
Custom designed, manufactured, and installed a cartindexing system to automatically stage the parts, thus reducing indirect labor for material retrieval by 80 percent.The pneumatically actuated cart lifter automatically positions parts for optimum picking, thus reducing unnecessary bending or twisting on the part of the operator.

Mechanical Indexing System

Problem:
Customer’s jobs-per-hour count was unacceptable due to excessive indirect labor required to manually retrieve part racks and move the racks into position for easy parts retrieval. Ergonomic issues resulted due to the excessive movement required to reposition the rack after each retrieval in order to access the large, cumbersome parts.
